Feeling Drained? Three Simple Ways to Refill Your Cup

Hello Reader,

Whether you are grieving, caring for a loved one, or holding space for others as a professional, it’s easy to put your own needs on the back burner. But just like tending to a fire, caring for yourself ensures that you can continue to offer warmth and light to those around you. Self-care isn’t indulgent—it’s essential. It allows you to show up with more presence, resilience, and compassion for both yourself and others.

This week, I invite you to pause and choose one way to nurture yourself. Below, you’ll find three opportunities: a training and self-care immersion for grief professionals, a creative writing workshop for family caregivers, and a Valentine’s Day meditation to support those missing a loved one.

I hope one of these speaks to you, and if it does, I’d love for you to join.

Radical Self-Care with Mindfulness & Grief Mastery For Grief Professionals

If your work involves supporting others through grief, you may find yourself carrying a heavy emotional load. Mindfulness & Grief Mastery is a three-month training and self-care immersion where you'll learn the Mindfulness & Grief System—not just for yourself, but also to better support your clients.

This program blends evidence-based mindfulness, self-care practices, and professional guidance to help you prevent burnout, deepen your resilience, and integrate these powerful tools into your work. By experiencing these practices firsthand, you’ll be able to sustain your own well-being while guiding others through their grief with greater confidence and compassion.

Family Caregivers Creative Writing Workshop

Caring for a loved one can be both beautiful and exhausting. Finding time to reflect and process your emotions is just as important as managing daily responsibilities. That’s why my dear friend, Karen Finneyfrock—a published poet, author, and family caregiver herself—is leading a creative writing workshop designed just for caregivers.

This free, virtual workshop is a space to explore your experiences, find connection, and express yourself through writing. You don’t need to be a writer—just bring your thoughts and an open heart.

Note: the time on the form is PACIFIC STANDARD TIME.

For Anyone Grieving: A Guided Meditation for Valentine’s Day

Holidays can be some of the hardest days when you're grieving, and Valentine’s Day can feel especially tender. Whether you are missing a partner, family member, or dear friend, this guided meditation is here to support you.

I wrote this article and meditation to help you honor your love while holding space for your grief. If you are dreading this holiday, I invite you to take a few moments to breathe, reflect, and let yourself feel whatever arises—without judgment.

Grief work is about carrying the love with you, not moving on.

Hello Reader, We’re often told that acceptance is the last stage of grief, something we reach once the pain fades and life feels normal again. But grief doesn’t unfold in stages (don't get me started). And acceptance isn’t about “moving on”—it’s about making space for what’s already here without fighting against it. In last week’s Meditation & Journaling class in Awaken, members embodied this idea through a guided meditation and journaling practice designed to help you sit with what...
